N.S. police say teen faces charges in alleged stabbing of another teen

<p>SYDNEY, N.S. – Cape Breton Regional Police say a 17-year-old girl faces charges following the alleged stabbing of a 19-year-old man.</p> <p>Police were called to a home in Sydney on Tuesday where a woman told them she was concerned about her brother’s health.</p> <p>Officers then went to a home on Alexander Street and spoke with the man who told them he had been in an altercation over the weekend and had been stabbed.</p> <p>The man was taken to hospital to be treated for non life-threatening injuries.</p> <p>Police say they later arrested the girl.</p> <p>She has since been released and will return to court at a later date to face charges including assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.</p>
