<p>MONTREAL – Air travellers flying into Montreal can now watch Canuck film clips while waiting for customs clearance and their luggage.</p> <p>The National Film Board of Canada and Aeroports de Montreal have joined forces to show NFB photographs, films and animated works at Montreal-Trudeau Airport.</p> <p>The initiative, which is part of the Montreal Identity program (a.k.a. L’Aerogalerie), is running in three locations at the terminal over the next year or so.</p> <p>In the customs hall for arriving passengers is a giant screen displaying a never-before-seen montage of photos and videos from the interactive NFB Web documentary “Holy Mountain!”</p> <p>Created by photographer Gilbert Duclos, author and journalist Helene de Billy and designer Philippe Archontakis, the piece is a multimedia exploration of Mount Royal.</p> <p>Meanwhile, the baggage-claim area has montages of NFB film clips that touch on four themes – architecture, winter, crowds and movement in the city.</p> <p>A montage of clips from “Roadsworth: Crossing the Line,” Alain Kohl’s documentary about the urban artist, is also shown, along with the full version of Sylvie Trouve’s animated short “Orange.”</p> <p>And in the second-floor lounge is a series of photographs that celebrate the 70th anniversary of the NFB animation studios. </p> <p>Through next month, some three dozen stills will stay up to pay tribute to Oscar-winning NFB animated films, including “The Sand Castle” by Co Hoedeman and “The Danish Poet” by Torill Kove.</p>
