The service says Chan has also waived his right to a preliminary inquiry, meaning the matter will move directly to BC Supreme Court.

Chan is next set to appear in court in Vancouver on Sept. 16.

He was elected in 2024 as a B.C. Conservative banner but was removed from caucus in March by interim leader Trevor Halford after the charges came to light.

Chan has previously said he disagrees with the allegations, which date back to 2024.
