TORONTO — Look out deadmau5, another round-ear rodent is entering the EDM scene.
Walt Disney Records announced Tuesday it is releasing a collection of 14 memorable songs from Disney movies — remixed and reimagined by artists like Armin Van Buuren and Kaskade.
Dconstructed, due out April 22, includes music from classics like Sleeping Beauty and Dumbo as well as modern hits like The Lion King and Frozen.
The album also has an extended mix of the Disney theme parks’ “Main Street Electrical Parade” tune by Shinichi Osawa.
“The Muppet Show Theme” has been remixed by Shy Kidz and Randy Newman’s Toy Story favourite “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” was remixed by Alfred Montejano.
Avicii refreshed Daft Punk’s “Derezzed” from TRON: Legacy for the album.
The collection includes a Mat Zo remix of “Circle of Life” (The Lion King), Armin Van Buuren’s remix of “Let It Go” (Frozen) and a Kinsey Moore remix of “Pineapple Princess” (Hawaiianette).
