Westbound collector lanes of Hwy 401 at Leslie reopens after fatal crash

TORONTO – The westbound collector lanes of Highway 401 have reopened after a male driver was killed following a three vehicle collision Monday morning.

The crash happened around 5 a.m. near the off ramp to Bayview.

Ontario Provincial Police say a female passenger was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Two people in one of the other vehicles were treated on scene.

Police say the driver of a BMW collided with a Taxi cab which then spun out of control and struck a Mercedes.

The 22-year-old driver of the Mercedes died at the scene.

The westbound collector lanes were closed at Leslie Street for several hours for a police investigation and clean up the crash.
