HALIFAX – A Saskatchewan woman who happened to pick up a lottery ticket while travelling in Nova Scotia is the winner of $1 million.

Atlantic Lottery says Tanya Jimmy from Onion Lake purchased the ticket while she was attending a conference in Halifax.

She returned to Moncton, N.B., last Friday to pick up the prize for the Lotto Max ticket.

The tickets are sold across the country by provincial lotteries.

Jimmy says she bought the ticket at the urging of her husband, who likes the idea of buying lotto tickets when away from home.

She says she was back in Saskatchewan relaxing in the tub when she Googled the winning numbers.
