Slave Lake Fires: List of Roads and highways closed due to Alberta wildfires

The devastating wildfires in Slave Lake and other communities in Northern Alberta are forcing a number of roads and highways in Alberta to close.

The Ministry of Transportation has created a wildfire hotline number which has a list of road and highways that have been closed.

Alberta Wildfire Information Hotline Number 1.780.644.5653 or toll free within Alberta at 310.0000.

Alberta Wildfire Road/Highway Closure Information as of May 17th, 10: 30 am local time:

· Highway 44 open

· All access into Slave Lake Closed

· Evacuation access out of Slave Lake is available on Highway 2 Eastbound

· Highway 2 closed West of Slave Lake from 33 to the town

· Highway 2 East of Slave Lake Closed from Highway 2a/44 into the town

· Highway 88 is closed North of Slave Lake up to Highway 986 south of Red Earth Creek

· Highway 750 closed from Highway 679 to Highway 88
