Merik Stanley Bereznicki, 46, has been charged with three counts of sexual assault after three women between the ages of 18 and 22 who were responding to job postings were allegedly sexually assaulted.
The incidents reportedly happened on three different occasions between January of 2009 and March of 2011.
The women, who were responding to postings for an administrative assistant that had been posted on a social media website.
The interviews were set up at a home office in the area of 114 Avenue and 105 Street.
When the women arrived they were allegedly sexually assaulted.
The investigation into the case took more than two years.
“This arrest was the culmination of solid investigative work and the strength and courage of the victims to come forward,” says Staff Sergeant Debbie Jolly of the Sexual Assault Section.
Bereznicki is still in custody is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, May 5th.
Police believe there could be other victims in this case, and they are encouraging anyone else who might have had a similar experience to call the Edmonton Police information line at 780-423-4567.
