MONTREAL – As part of an ongoing investigation into narcotics in Montreal and Laval, police made seven arrests on Wednesday.

“It’s related to Asian organized crime,” confirmed Montreal police spokesperson Dany Richler.

The arrests of men and women ranging between 30 to 50 years of age came after nine homes and businesses were raided.

Four of the suspects face charges of attempted murder, relating to an incident in late December where a 23-year-old man was attacked in a violent home invasion in St. Michel.

Police suspected that the house on Belherbe and 12th Avenue contained significant amounts of narcotics, which led to further investigations.
