REGINA – Regina-native Mark McMorris arrived in Regina Saturday morning, after capturing bronze at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.
“He’s worked really, really hard to get that medal. I’m just so happy for him,” said Cindy McMorris, Mark’s mother.
McMorris was welcomed at the Regina International Airport by throngs of fans, family members and friends – some of whom, he hasn’t seen since Christmas.
“Everyone is very friendly and treats me very well,” said McMorris. “I usually just hang out with my friends, but I think it will be much different now.”
While back in the Queen City, McMorris plans to hit up some of his favorite local spots, including Earls in the east end and Brewed Awakening.
