Quebec police investigate ‘suspicious deaths’ of Terrebonne couple

MONTREAL – Investigations are ongoing as Quebec provincial police look into the deaths of a couple north of Montreal.

Thirty-five-year-old Julie Lemieux and her partner 54-year-old Luc Gelinas were discovered in a home in the off-island suburb of Terrebonne on Thursday, the same day that Gelinas would have celebrated his birthday.

Sûreté du Québec spokesperson, Gino Paré, told Global News that investigators have met with all of the family and are continuing to meet with other people.

Although authorities would not confirm that the couple had been murdered, Paré noted that the deaths were considered suspicious.

The bodies were discovered after local police were called to the home after receiving a 9-1-1 call at 10 a.m. Thursday morning.
