City of Lethbridge promoting ‘Family Day Unplugged’

LETHBRIDGE- Just how connected are you when it comes to spending time with family?

That’s a question the City of Lethbridge is asking all residents to consider this Family Day weekend when spending an entire day “unplugged.”

Part of a province wide initiative, the city is partnering with Community and Social Development and the Community Developmental Assets Collaboration to encourage families to spend Monday tech-free.

The city says spending less time on electronics has shown multiple benefits for children.

Events around Lethbridge on Family Day: 

• Play Day 2014 |11am-3pm, University of Lethbridge/1st Choice Savings Centre (free)
• Family Fun Day | 1pm-3pm, YMCA, $5 for non-members
• Family Day at the Galt | 1pm-5pm, Galt Museum (free)
• Family Fun Day | CASA (Community Arts Centre), free sample classes
• Family Day at the Fort | 11am-4pm, Fort Whoop Up, $2 admission
• Family Drop-In Gym | 10am-5pm, Lethbridge College, $2/family
