As he was stepping off the curb, the man was allegedly struck by a vehicle heading south on 97 Street. The pedestrian fell to the ground and hit his head, police said.

The senior was treated by EMS and taken to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries Thursday.

Police continue to investigate, but say charges are not likely to be laid because investigators believe the man was not walking in a marked crosswalk.
