TORONTO — Justin Bieber smelled like marijuana and was “excited, talkative, insulting, cocky” and used profanity while talking to police on the morning of his DUI arrest in Florida.
According to documents from the Miami Beach Police Department, officers noted the 19-year-old singer’s eyes were bloodshot and his pupils dilated and he appeared flushed.
He was charged with DUI, resisting arrest without violence and driving with an expired license.
Bieber, through his lawyers, pleaded not guilty to the charges on Wednesday and is scheduled to be arraigned on Feb. 14. He does not have to appear.

Bieber “let time lapse as he decided whether or not to take the breath test,” reads the report. He had “extreme difficulty providing a breath sample.”
Officer Martin Dionne, who conducted sobriety tests on the pop star, wrote in his report that he told Bieber he suspected he was intentionally not blowing hard enough.
“Defendant became agitated and advised that he was doing it properly,” reads the report. “He advised that he was blowing into the hose like he blows into his trumpet.”
Eventually, two valid breath samples were obtained — a .014 and .011. Both are under the .02 limit for drivers under 21 in Florida.
Bieber also reportedly struggled with a balance test and told officers he had a torn meniscus in his right knee.
Dionne wrote in his report that while en route to the police station he told Bieber that he “reeked” of marijuana. Bieber allegedly responded: “Yeah, we were smoking all night at the studio.”
When Dionne asked Bieber about medications he might be on, the singer allegedly said he was on anti-anxiety medication but did not know what kind. When pressed for specifics, he allegedly said: “My mom takes care of all that stuff for me.”
Bieber also volunteered that he was allergic to “cats and pollen.”
