One person dead in three-vehicle crash near New Hazelton, B.C.

Just after 9 a.m., emergency crews responded to a three-vehicle crash on Highway 16 near Mudflat Creek.

New Hazelton RCMP said one person was pronounced dead at the scene, but did not release any information on the other occupants of the vehicles or whether there were any injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and the highway is expected to be closed in both directions for several hours.

Drivers are being warned there is no alternate route available.
