John Tortorella suspended 15 days following brawl at Vancouver-Flames game

WATCH: Canucks brawl with Flames, Tortorella rages:

Vancouver Canucks coach John Tortorella has been suspended for 15 days following an altercation outside the Calgary Flames dressing room at the game in Vancouver Saturday night.

His suspension is without pay and lasts for six games. It appears he will be back with the Canucks Feb. 3 against Detroit.

Tortorella had a hearing with the NHL Monday morning in New York.

Calgary Flames coach Bob Hartley has been fined $25,000 for his part in what happened Saturday night. In a statement, Calgary Flames president of hockey operations Brian Burke defended Hartley.

“I am perplexed by this fine. I stand behind Bob Hartley completely in this regard and remain confident that he acted properly in every aspect of this game.”

Following a massive line brawl at the start of the first period, Tortorella started yelling at Hartley from the Vancouver bench. After the first period he stormed down the hallway towards the Flames dressing room, grappling with the personnel who were standing there.

He was not ejected from the game.

This is not the first time Tortorella has been in trouble with the NHL, but for this incident he was apologetic after the game.
