Generations Foundation 2024 Holiday Food and Toy Drive kicks off

Providing holiday cheer to those in need for a quarter of a century, Generations Foundation Holiday Food and Toy Drive founders, Adrian & Natalie Bercovici join Global News Morning host Laura Casella to discuss the passion behind the annual charity event.

The Generations Foundation 2024 Holiday Food and Toy Drive is officially underway to spread holiday cheer and support across Montreal.

The goal is to give a new toy to thousands of children in the area who may not otherwise receive a gift this holiday season. Aside from toys, the initiative also provides non-perishable food items to families in need.

The husband-and-wife duo behind the Generations Foundation is devoted to providing breakfast and lunch to students at Montreal-area elementary and high schools. Their hot meal program ensures that thousands of kids don’t go hungry.

The hard-working team says requests for help are on the rise. The Generations Foundation is also supporting more schools, having added more to its network this year.

Celebrating its 25th year, the foundation is requesting additional funding and grants to meet the growing demand and to help offset the high costs for groceries.

With that in mind, co-founders Adrian and Natalie Bercovici say one of their biggest needs this holiday season is food.

“I do not understand how families can manage,” Adrian Bercovici said of grocery prices. “It’s impossible for any family to manage right now.”
