“It must not be easy to concentrate when images of such a spectacular city are being shown on such a big screen!”

Video of the cringe-worthy incident circulated on social media sites late Monday and early Tuesday.

In a statement posted online, Bay said: “I guess live shows aren’t my thing.”

The tongue-in-cheek note from Quebec Tourism suggested “the perfect cure” to getting over the “highly emotional experience” of seeing Quebec City in high definition.

“How would you like to visit Old Québec, the Château Frontenac, and the biggest winter carnival in the world in person?”

Bay directed the first three “Transformers” movies, with “Transformers 4” due in theatres in June 2014.
