Okanagan man gets five years for horrific assault

PENTICTON — A South Okanagan man has been sentenced to five years for a horrific attack on a woman.

Brian Louie, 34, was found guilty of aggravated sexual assault and assault causing bodily harm a little more than a year ago after biting a woman’s genitalia while the two were having consensual sex at a house party in the Oliver area in May 2012.

After biting the woman, Louie punched and kicked her before fleeing the scene.

During the trial, the victim testified that Louie had been drinking and she thought Louie was going to kill her.

Louie has been in custody since his arrest.

He will have to serve another 2.5 years in prison before he’s released.
