When Victoria Fire Department crews arrived they found heavy smoke and fire coming from the back side of the house on the second level.

First arriving crews used a 1 3/4 inch hose to knock down the fire on the sundeck from the driveway, while a second attack crew made entry for an interior attack.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire with no injuries to themselves and no other properties were damaged. Victoria Police and BC Ambulance Service also attended.
