Officers were called to Union Station around 4 a.m., where they learned that a 38-year-old woman was on the railroad tracks near the 200 block of Stradbrook Avenue when she was hit by a freight train.

Police had initially thought the woman was struck when getting off a passenger train headed in the opposite direction, but confirmed Tuesday afternoon that she had been walking on the tracks at the time of the incident.
