Winnipeg police continue to investigate scene of Selkirk Avenue homicide

Winnipeg police are investigating a homicide at a home on Selkirk Avenue.

Police said Tuesday the victim has been identified as 56-year-old Edgar Allan Bear, a member of Peguis First Nation who was living in Winnipeg.

Several units were called to a home in the 1200 block of Selkirk around 4 p.m. Monday, and had maintained a presence at the scene as of Tuesday morning. Police said they officers continue to remain at the scene for further processing.

This marks Winnipeg’s 11th homicide of 2024.
