A near life-sized nativity scene that used to be at the former Woodwards Department Store is now on display at a downtown church.
The Christ Church Cathedral is displaying the solid wood nativity scene, carved in the 1950s in Italy. Woodwards bought the set in 1955.
After Woodwards closed in the early 90s, the nativity scene was on display in the windows of the Bay downtown near the Seymour Street entrance every Christmas. Hudson Bay has now loaned the set to the church.
