Abbotsford homeless camp evicted; residents and city head to court

The fight over a contentious homeless encampment in Abbotsford is heating up.

Since October, a group of homeless people has being living at Jubilee Park and last night, the group was evicted.

Now they’ve moved their gear to a fortified encampment held up by plywood boards.

The city has filed an injunction to get the camp cleared out.

Both sides are expected in court today and Monday but residents of the camp say they have nowhere else to go, and will be standing their ground.
