EDMONTON – The seasonal parking ban, which has been in place in Edmonton since 1 a.m. Thursday, will be lifted at 3 p.m. Friday.
“I want to thank the crews for working so hard around the clock, and thank those who complied with the parking ban and helped make our jobs easier,” said Bob Dunford, Director of Roadway Maintenance, Transportation Services.

The City issued 153 tickets during the ban.
Parking Enforcement Coordinator Erin Blaine says compliance was up from November’s six-day parking ban. But crews did encounter one problem in particular.
“We do go back to areas after they’ve been graded and we did find too many vehicles that had gone back to park before the ban was lifted,” she said. “So we have some work to do around that.”
Starting Monday, crews will focus on removing windrows from school zones.
Temporary No Parking signs will be placed in areas where crews are working.
