Ontario police looking for woman connected to police shooting in Seaforth

Karley Frayer. OPP

Ontario Provincial Police in Huron County have released the details and an image of a woman is wanted on an attempted murder charge that was connected to a recent off-involved shooting.

Police say they are on the lookout for 34-year-old Karley Frayer, who in addition to the attempt to commit murder charge, is also wanted for dangerous operation, operation while prohibited as well as possession of stolen property offences.

The suspect is being described as being around five-feet-three-inches tall, weighing around 180 pounds with coloured, wavy hair.

The OPP could not provide much further information on the initial incident as the Special Investigations Unit is investigating it as well.

Last Wednesday, officers were looking to arrest two people in Seaforth, when one was injured and taken to hospital.

In a release the following day, the SIU said the OPP received a call about a stolen vehicle.

It says an unmarked cruiser followed the suspect vehicle until it pulled into a driveway and at that point, officers made their approach.

An interaction ensued, in which an officer shot his gun, hitting the suspect vehicle, before it fled the scene, according to the SIU.

A little later, a 35-year-old man who was in the suspect vehicle was dropped off at Clinton Public Hospital with unspecified injuries.

The other suspect then fled the scene in the stolen vehicle, according to the release.

The SIU is an independent agency that investigates incidents involving police that have resulted in death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
