Hello, Please join us for an intimate house concert, Robert Dvorkin (http://robertdvorkin.com) from Ottawa for a special celebration of the wonderfully evocative music of Claude Debussy. Tickets: http://www.mymusicfriends.com/concert/20 It’s a great way to meet new friends, in the comfort of a living room. Wine and snacks will be provided! Mr. Dvorkin has been giving performances of Debussy’s music across North America this year to commemorate the centennial of the great French composer’s passing. An alumnus of Indiana University Jacobs School of Music (where he studied with Enrica Cavallo-Gulli), Mr. Dvorkin’s playing has been described as “beautiful…utterly convincing” by Menahem Pressler. Mr. Dvorkin will perform a generous selection of Debussy’s most beloved works, including Clair de lune, Reflets dans l’eau, and La cathédrale engloutie. In the spirit of Vancouver’s annual Celebration of Light, Mr. Dvorkin will conclude with Feux d’artifice, the memorable depiction of fireworks from the second book of Preludes! — Location — A cozy living room at UBC — Parking — Free street-side parking — Tickets ($25-30) — http://www.mymusicfriends.com/concert/20 — Date & Time — July 27th (FRIDAY) —– Doors: 7:00PM —– Show: 7:30PM The concert has one hour of performance (with brief spoken introductions for each piece), and one hour of mingling over complimentary wine and snacks.
