Global News is proud to partner with Inter Toronto FC for the 2026 season!
Inter Toronto welcomed a record-breaking crowd of 3,256 attendees to York Lions Stadium on Wednesday, October 7, for its first-ever School Day, setting a new club attendance record and marking the highest attendance recorded at the stadium across all sporting events in 2026.
The Canadian Premier League match brought together students and teachers from schools across Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), creating a memorable atmosphere as thousands of young fans experienced professional soccer during the school day.
“We want Inter Toronto to be a club that represents and connects communities across the region. Creating opportunities for young people to experience professional soccer in their own city is an important part of that vision, and we hope this is the beginning of a lasting connection with these students, their schools, and their families,” said Eduardo Pasquel, CEO of Inter Toronto.
The initiative was designed to bring professional soccer closer to local communities, introduce the next generation of supporters to the club, and strengthen relationships with schools throughout the region.
Building on the success of its inaugural edition, Inter Toronto aims to continue developing initiatives that welcome new audiences, support community engagement, and strengthen the club’s connection with the next generation of soccer fans.
