Sept 20 – Community Litter Cleanup in Lougheed Area of Burnaby!

The Lower Mainland Green Team & City of Burnaby invite you to connect and make a difference at our fun, community-spirited neighbourhood cleanups! Meet like-minded people in your community, enjoy time outdoors, try new things and make an impact locally. Join us from 9am-12:15pm on Saturday September 20, 2025 at our last of 4 litter cleanups taking place in each quadrant of Burnaby this summer! For this cleanup, we will meet at Cameron Elementary School. NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED, ALL AGES & ABILITIES INVITED! Gloves, safety vests, litter pickers & bags will be provided. Participants will be split into groups of 15-25 people and will be led along cleanup routes by a designated leader. Come alone or bring your family, friends, coworkers, classmates and neighbours! Stay for as long or as little as you’re able to. This cleanup will run RAIN OR SHINE! REGISTRATION REQUIRED! In 2024, 399 people joined us at 5 litter cleanups and contributed to removing 1,487 pounds of litter (as heavy as a car!) from areas across Burnaby. We estimate our volunteers cleaned up over 65,000 pieces of litter! Join us in 2025 to be part of this momentum, connect with others, be inspired and make a difference in your community.
