Art and sport merge at the fourth annual Atlantic Salmon Fly International (ASFI) conference. Come watch over 50 of the world’s best Atlantic salmon fly tyers from 13 countries as they demonstrate their skills and share their knowledge on tying these stunning, classic patterns. Learn more about the art of tying and sport of fly fishing with hook-making demonstrations, youth events, seminars, exhibitors and a banquet. SPECIAL YOUTH EVENTS Featured at the conference are special events for youth.
On Saturday, four youth aged 7 to 12 will demonstrate their tying skills. In a special tying centre, kids will be able choose a favourite pattern and then watch as experienced tyers build their flies in front of their eyes! Conference proceeds donated to Hope Mission in support of youth programs. BANQUET & AUCTION On Saturday, Sept. 14, Jim McLennan, author, guide and fly-fishing expert, will host a Gala Banquet featuring live and silent auctions. Auctioneer Sheldon Smithens (Canadian Pickers) will lead a lively evening of bidding on items donated to support the event. Banquet tickets are $65 each via etransfer to asfiyyc.treasurer@gmail.com.
