Lisa Dutton
Anchor

Lisa Dutton was led to a career in broadcasting by a high school teacher, who recognized her passion and ease while presenting to her peers in a 12th-grade English class.

She graduated with a diploma in Broadcast Journalism from Mount Royal University in Calgary in 2003, and hit the ground running as a video journalist in her hometown of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Lisa loved the excitement and unpredictability of news, covering mass northern forest fires to controversial court cases. While she loved being out in the field reporting, Lisa was quickly promoted to late-night anchor at CTV Regina, and joined the Global family in 2005 where she became a mainstay anchor for 12 years. Lisa played an integral role in launching Global Saskatoon’s first morning newscast, where she truly honed her skills as a live TV host. From politics to parenting, Lisa loves finding the human element in every news story. Her down-to-earth relatability led the Morning News to No. 1 in the market.

The highlight of Lisa’s career was introducing her idol, Oprah Winfrey, to a sold-out crowd in Saskatoon.  However, she is most proud of her community work, hosting and emceeing countless charitable events, and connecting with viewers beyond the screen.

In 2017 Lisa stepped away from the anchor desk (and Riderville) to spend some time settling her family in their new home in Winnipeg, MB. Lisa couldn’t deny her passion for broadcasting, and returned to the desk as Global Winnipeg’s 6:00 pm anchor in the summer of 2019.

Lisa is a proud mom of two boys, and a rescue dog named Tate. She is a terrible cook, so it is best Lisa is anchoring the news while her husband makes supper. The Dutton family is proud to call Winnipeg home.
