On Thursday, Gen. Wayne Eyre, the Chief of the Defence Staff, informed the House of Commons National Defence Committee that the cut of $1 billion from the annual budget of the Department of National Defence would have a significant impact on the department. “There’s no way that you can take almost a billion dollars out of the defence budget and not have an impact. This is something that we’re wrestling with now,” he said.
