New Brunswick ran a $1 billion surplus in 2022, far exceeding the originally projected amount of $35 million dollars, according to Finance Minister Ernie Steeves who released the financial statements on Wednesday. Steeves says this reflects effective fiscal management, but opposition parties argue it shows a lack of investment in public services. Silas Brown has more.
