Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelenskyy, who is visiting Ottawa, said Friday that he discussed confiscating Russian assets with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as way to push back against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Zelenskyy said that the funds are used by Russia and “its henchmen” to pay for their war, and that the funds should be used to compensate Ukraine for the damage caused instead.
