Republican U.S. senator and former presidential candidate Mitt Romney announced on Wednesday that he won’t be seeking reelection in the upcoming 2024 U.S. presidential elections. “I considered my age and the fact that at the end of the second-term I would be in my mid-80’s, and I think it’s time for guys like me to get out of the way and have the next generation step forward because they’re going to be shaping the world they’re going to be living in,” Romney said.
