Tensions rise, OPP called as Alnwick/Haldimand council eyes revisions to short-term rental bylaw

Tensions flared during the July 18 meeting of Alnwick/Haldimand Township council as they discussed revisions to its short-term rental bylaw including introducing a licensing fee and property inspections.

Deputy Mayor Joan Stover stopped the meeting after several people kept interrupting the meeting. She and others went to another room where OPP were called in to disperse the gallery of 50 to 60 people.
