B.C. Public Safety Minister Mike Farnworth has directed the City of Surrey to continue its transition to a municipal police force. It ends a years-long saga that saw a twist last fall when new Mayor Brenda Locke vowed to keep the RCMP. But today, Farnworth says Surrey hasn’t proven moving back to the RCMP is the safest option, and as Richard Zussman reports, this is the final decision.
