Speaking the day before the annual NATO summit is set to start in Lithuania, Ukrainians in Kyiv said on Monday that the lack of full endorsement for Ukraine’s membership in the intergovernmental alliance would send a message that the West is afraid of Moscow. Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that Ukrainian membership of the NATO military alliance would “be an absolute danger, a threat to our country.”
