Aspartame to be declared potential carcinogen: sources

Aspartame, one of the world’s most common artificial sweeteners, is set to be declared as “possibly carcinogenic to humans” next month by the World Health Organization’s cancer research agency, according to sources with knowledge of the process. The ruling does not take into account how much of the product a person can safely consume.
