Chow says stretch of Gardiner Expressway is ‘coming down anyway,’ could save money for ‘fixing TTC’

One day after being elected Toronto’s next mayor, Olivia Chow spoke about the Gardiner Expressway, saying a less-than-kilometre stretch of the highway would be “coming down anyway,” regardless of her mayoral power. She said not rebuilding the stretch could save $500M and go towards “fixing (the) TTC” and making room for up to 8,000 new housing units in the city.
