Appeal could have wide-ranging impacts on B.C. Indigenous child protection system

The Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Services Society is appealing a ruling by the BC Human Rights Tribunal that an Afro-Indigenous mother faced discrimination at the hands of child welfare workers, arguing the tribunal overstepped its bounds. But there are concerns if the society wins, parents who face discrimination may have nowhere to turn. Kamil Karamali reports.
