The leader of the Wagner mercenary group made his most direct challenge to Putin’s iron grip yet on Friday, calling for an armed rebellion aimed at ousting Russia’s defense minister. Leader Yevgeny Prigozhin led his mercenary group out of Ukraine and into Rostov-on-Don to take control of the city’s military HQ. Redmond Shannon reports.
