Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino said during question period in the House of Commons on Monday that he had contacted the correctional services commissioner to express his concerns regarding the transfer of convicted killer Paul Bernado to a medium-security prison once he was informed, and that he will issue new instructions to ensure that “this kind of thing doesn’t happen again.”
