During a surprise visit to Kyiv Saturday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed Canada and Ukraine are working on a legal declaration that will make the former a guarantor of safety for the latter amid the Russia-Ukraine war. Zelenskyy said until Ukraine can join NATO, while it remains in a “vulnerable position,” his nation needs countries “like Canada” to come to the table with more support. Crystal Goomansingh reports.
