Southern Alberta farmers are facing significant challenges due to hot and dry weather, with soil moisture levels well below normal. Even a Calgary pilot project, Highfield Farms, is experiencing similar conditions, and the lack of precipitation is expected to continue until July, causing rural farmers to truck in water and increasing costs for both farmers and consumers.
