UCP Leader Danielle Smith won a very tight Alberta election with nearly 53 per cent of the popular vote, but the campaign certainly wasn’t easy. Smith’s government is one of the slimmest majorities Alberta’s ever had and she lost some cabinet ministers to NDP candidates who flipped Edmonton and Calgary ridings. ‘The West Block’ host Mercedes Stephenson sat down with Premier Smith to talk about how she plans to govern for all Albertans and what her relationship with Ottawa will look like.
