A crowd rallied outside a Vancouver courtroom Friday – demanding justice for 54- year- old Florence Girard. Girard – who lived with Down syndrome – starved to death in the Port Coquitlam home of her caregiver in 2018. The woman convicted in connection with her death did not receive jail time. Girard’s family and advocates urged the Crown to appeal the sentence -which was before the court today. Catherine Urquhart reports.
