Dave Meldrum, deputy chief with Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency, said Thursday that all hands were on deck as firefighters continued efforts to contain an out-of-control wildfire burning in the local area, along with several “outside” fires. “We’re stretched but we’re not broken,” he said, adding that firefighters “deserve time away from these incident scenes to decompress and get well.”
