Halifax Mayor Mike Savage commended communications staff who helped evacuate those possibly in harm’s way from a fast-moving wildfire. “When decisions were being made as to what would be evacuated – these are big decisions…I think our folks are doing an awful lot of work so that people have the information that they need,” the mayor said.
