Officers from Peel Regional Police, York Regional Police, Durham Regional Police and Toronto Police spoke about their efforts to collaborate while also reaching out to the public for their help in combating illegal street racing around the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) with Project ERASE. “Established in 1999, Project ERASE provides a targeted and educational component to address the rise of illegal street racing in the GTA,” deputy chief Marc Andrews of the Peel regional police service said during a press conference on Thursday.
